Seattle Met Shop Talk blogger Amanda Zurita just recently completed the Pure Barre New Year Challenge — that’s 50 sweat-tastic workouts at the new Pure Barre Queen Anne in just 60 days. And she did it all to raise $500 (generously donated by Pure Barre owner Sami Sweeny) for Get Hitched, Give Hope! Thank you SO MUCH, Amanda and Sami!
In fact, Amanda found that a charitable donation made working toward her goal so much more attainable that she recommends everyone try it! She says,
“Charity is a great motivator. From now on I’m going to pretend everything I do is for charity. I’m actually persuading myself to continue attending Pure Barre regularly by acting as if the challenge isn’t even over and I’m just weeks away from a big check for GHGH.
Try it: The next time you have a lofty goal, imagine that you’re helping someone in need by completing it. Better yet, actually commit to donating to your choice charity, even just a small amount. Everyone wins.”
In this case, Amanda had a fantastic fitness experience, and our featured charities receive even more love to help accomplish their missions: Young Survival Coalition can continue to provide support and education to local breast cancer survivors and Dream Foundation will be able to grant even more amazing end-of-life wishes for adults with terminal diagnoses.
