In case you missed it on Facebook, here is the fabulous video by Leaning Wolf Productions of GHGH 2009! We love the way the video captures the fun, excitement, and caring generosity of the evening. Everyone had a fantastic time, and you can really see it. Take a look, and be sure to check out Leaning Wolf’s other projects, too!

We here at Get Hitched Give Hope love our people – Jason Parker is one of our favorite people.  Also a wonderful musician and has been a generous supporter to GHGH over the past couple of years.  He sent out this email newsletter tonight & I wanted to re-post and share it with you.

I hope it finds you safely,

The Ladies of GHGH

Greetings,

As you know, there is severe devastation in Haiti right now in the aftermath of the 7.0 earthquake that hit the island. This is a tragedy not only for the people in Haiti but also for those around the world that have family and friends there. One of our own is just such a person.

David, my good friend and the owner of Lucid Jazz Lounge in Seattle, has family in Haiti. He is leaving tomorrow to go down there to help out in any way that he can. The Seattle jazz community has rallied around him at this difficult time, and we are doing everything we can to help. Here’s two ways you can help:

  1. Come to Lucid TONIGHT with any kind of donation you can. We will be accepting cash and check donations of any amount and will deposit them directly into David bank account in the morning so that by the time he arrives in Haiti the funds will have cleared.
  2. I will be donating 100% of all sales of my CDs directly to David from now through the end of next week. This way you can donate and get some great music! Do so by visiting oneworkingmusician.com/my-music

This is the most direct way you can help out, as all money will be given to those who need it the most by David himself. When he gets there he plans to buy water, first aid supplies, anything that will help.
I hope you’ll consider donating in any way that you can.

Cheers,
Jason

Reason # 3 – It is for a truly amazing cause.  (see wishes granted thus far)

So I know you’re all crossing your fingers, but the winner of the first fascinator (the sparkly one) is Sara Bauleke, aka @BellaNotteDC on twitter. And the winner of the second fascinator (the feathery one) is Amanda Howse Butler! Congratulations to both of you and thanks for your comments and tweets!

Reason #12 – The SWAG bags are BEYOND swagalicious!!

If you want a swag bag – its easy!  When you purchase your ticket (click here) just add on an extra $25 donation and this super cool product filled bag-o-goodies will be all yours!

It is TOTALLY worth it!!  Not only will your donation go to our charity but the #1 rule of swag donation is that it has to be cool and let me tell you these products are COOL!

I don’t want to give everything away… but here is a sneak peak of just a few of the MANY donations to swag!!

1) Re-usable tote bags from Wedding Chicks 2) Sweet bud vases from Christopher Flowers 3) Double Tree Cookies!!! 4) Wink Cupcakes!! 5) MUSIC from Jason Parker Quartet 6) RAD water bottles from Hans Rasmussen & Liberty Mutual Insurance!!! 7) DRY SODA! 8) Photo coasters from Jean Marcus-Strole !!    Okay – those are the only ones I’m going to tell you about for the moment… you’ll have to buy one and check it out!!

Reason # 13  - FLIPPED OUT will be there!!   (its like a photobooth… buuuuut you get a FLIP BOOK at the end of it!! HOW COOL IS THAT!!?)

At last year’s Get Hitched, Give Hope Brandie bid on–and won!–a nail party with manis and pedis for her and her mom and bridesmaids at Julep Nail Parlor downtown. It was so much fun. And it wasn’t just a fun afternoon with the girls–it was one that felt great, because the money spent on the day all went to the Making Memories Breast Cancer Foundation.

There was champagne and pampering and general fun…

And some awesome bright toe colors…

Just a few days later I had a blast photographing Brandie’s wedding…you can see how much fun she is…

Brandie treated me to a pedi–how sweet! That’s me with the orange toes…

What a great way to have fun…all while giving back. Thanks to Julep for the incredibly generous donation and thanks to Brandie, for helping us raise $30,000 last year!
